2 men sentenced to 3 months imprisonment for buying stolen phones


Ebuka Elechukwu and Edwin Sunday have been sentenced to 3 month imprisonment for allegedly buying stolen phones from Emeka Emmanuel by the Gudu upper area court in Abuja.



Ebuka Elechukwu and Edwin Sunday have been sentenced to 3 months imprisonment for allegedly buying stolen phones fromEmeka Emmanuel of Piga Sawa area by the Gudu upper area court in Abuja. However, he was given an option of paying 4,000 Naira fine.
The prosecutor, John Ijagbemi told the Gudu upper court thatSulaiman Sadiq of Angwar Hausawa area in Garki, Abuja reported a case of theft to Garki Police station.
During the investigation, Ijagbemi discovered that Emmanuel stole a Nokia 202 phone model worth N10,000 and sold it to Elechukwu for N1500.
On the other hand, Sunday also bought a Tecno P5 model valued at N15,000 and a Sicho phone worth N6,000 were also sold to Sunday at N8,500.
Elechukwu pleaded guilty to the offences, while the second accused, Sunday, pleaded not guilty and he was granted N20,000 bail with a surety
The case has been adjourned till February 22, 2015 for hearing.
