Manchester United target Bayern's Lewandowski, Pep to Man City likely

The winter window draws closer with each passing day, and the transfer rumour mill is starting to pick up steam. As always, Transfer Talk has the latest and greatest. See all the summer deals here.

Top Story: Lewandowski and Bojan Man United targets

Despite David De Gea's claims that the Manchester United dressing room are "very together" amid reports of unrest over Louis van Gaal's leadership at Old Trafford, sources have told ESPN FC that the club are "increasingly concerned about disenchantment with the coach's approach," and whether backing Van Gaal in the January transfer window is the right path any longer.
But talk over Van Gaal's future hasn't stopped speculation about additions to his squad, with Sport Bild reporting that United are set to join Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid in the race for Bayern Munich forward Robert Lewandowski. The German outlet says that United are willing to match PSG's contract offer of €15 million a year net (£10.9m) to hijack the French champions' move for the 27-year-old, who has hit 15 goals in 15 Bundesliga games. Any potential deal for Lewandowski could rest on whether United can also secure the services of Bayern coach Pep Guardiola, who, as you shall find out below, looks set for England next year.
Meanwhile, The Sun reports that United will compete with Liverpool and Chelsea for Stoke star Bojan Krkic, with the trio looking to offer the Potters around £15m for the 25-year-old former Barcelona forward following his impressive form so far this season.

Pep talk all about City

Pep Guardiola dominates the back pages on Thursday, with all signs pointing to a summer exit from Bayern. German outlets Sport Bild and kicker are confident the coach has already decided to leave the Bundesliga champions, putting English clubs on high alert.
In England, the Mirror headline reads: "One Pep closer to City," with the paper reporting that Manchester City "know they cannot pass up the chance" to land the Catalan coach despite handing Manuel Pellegrini an improved contract this summer.
