The Manchester United man latched onto a deflected cross from Raheem Sterling to fire past Mathew Ryan and becomes the youngster man ever to score for England on his debut.

The teenager also had a hand in England’s second goal, his dummy alllowing Sterling to find substitute Wayne Rooney who thumped the ball high past Ryan to double the hosts’ lead.

Yet England’s defensive frailties were once again on show, substitute Eric Dier heading past Fraser Forster just minutes after replacing Chris Smalling to halve the deficit.
