40 Nigerians were reportedly deported from the United Kingdom and Australia over immigration relation offences, on Wednesday, May 25, 2016.
The deportees which are reported to have comprised of men and women, arrived at the Hajj camp area of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport at 7:25am on a chartered aircraft.
The Nation reports that the chartered aircraft had 36 Nigerians, 29 males and seven females, on board the flight.
Both countries are also reported to have deported some Ghanaians, Liberians and Egyptians as well.
The returnees are reported to have been received by agencies like the Police, National Agency for Protection and Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) and Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS).
Their identities were also scrutinised to ensure that they were actually Nigerian citizens.
The deportees were reportedly repatriated from their host countries for overstaying their visas amongst other immigration offences.
