Chelsea are on the verge of signing Inter Milan midfielder Marcelo Brozovic as talks are reportedly on-going between the two clubs over a deal.
Brozovic’s agent has confirmed interest from Chelsea and Arsenal, as “Inter are pushing to sell him to one of these clubs.”
Arsenal are however likely to drop their interest in the player in view of the signing of Lucas Perez from Deportivo La Coruna and Shkodran Mustafi from Valencia.
The versatile Croatia international midfielder must be sold to raise funds as Gabigol and Joao Mario arrived Inter on Friday for a combined cost of €70m.
“It’s true, there are many options and we are talking about some big European clubs,” agent Miroslav Bicanic told Index in Croatia.
“I heard that Chelsea representatives are in Milan and that Arsenal are also prepared to sign him. Inter are pushing to sell to one of these two clubs who are prepared to pay a sum that satisfies all concerned.
“However, I am currently in Zagreb and there’s plenty of time before transfer deadline day. The matter is not so urgent and until Marcelo signs a contract with another club, he remains an Inter player.”
Juventus are likely to lean back towards Brozovic after PSG slammed the door on Blaise Matuidi, but Inter are determined to sell him abroad rather than reinforce a Serie A rival.
Roma are also prepared to push hard for Brozovic, but only if they sell Leandro Paredes.
