FIFA finally presents 3 candidates for the UEFA Presidency having been passed the eligibility tests.
All three candidates for the UEFA presidency have passed the eligibility checks conducted by FIFA.
Aleksander Ceferin, Michael van Praag and Angel Maria Villar Llona are in the race to replace Michel Platini, who resigned over a financial scandal earlier this year.
Van Praag heads the Dutch FA, Villar is president of Spain’s national football federation, while Ceferin leads the Slovenian association.
The UEFA election takes place at the Extraordinary UEFA Congress in Athens on September 14.
Like other confederation presidents, the new head of UEFA will automatically become a FIFA vice-president.
UEFA confirmed that Evelina Christillin, who is running for a female position on the FIFA Council, has also complied with the world football federation’s eligibility requirements.
The election of UEFA’s additional female member on FIFA’s ruling body is the other main item of business at the meeting in the Greek capital next week.
