Monaco have beaten Manchester City to the signing of Flamengo starlet Jorge, according to reports in France.
The 20-year-old has been tipped for a big future and he made his debut for Brazil earlier in January in a friendly encounter against Colombia.
Manchester City have been scouting the left-back for several months and he admitted in January he was flattered by their interest.
But now, according to L'Equipe, Jorge has decided to join Monaco after holding talks with the French club.
The Brazilian is set to complete his move to France in a deal worth around £7.25m and he will sign a long-term contract.
Jorge's decision to join Monaco will come as a blow to Manchester City but also Udinese, who were chasing the youngster as well.
