Four serial rapists who took delight in defiling female members of the NYSC have been arrested by the police in Abia State.
Four suspected rapists are now in the custody of the Abia State Police Command for allegedly raping some female members of the National Youth Service Corps scheme (NYSC).
The suspects, Ifeagwu Kalu, alias Eskimo, 34, Nkeiru John Iwuoha, also known as Damage, 40, Chukwu Ogbonnaya, 26 and Onyebuchi Kalu, according to a release by the state command, have terrorizing women at Elughu Nkporo and its environs before nemesis finally caught up with them.
The State Commissioner of Police, Adeleye Oyebade, while parading the culprits at the headquarters of the command in Umuahia, said suspects have been carrying out the act for several months unabated but luck ran out on them recently.
They were said to have abducted the Corps members and some other women, took them to their hideout and took turns in raping them.
Their cover was blown when one of their victims spotted and recognized one of them in the town and raised an alarm.
He was arrested and handed over to the police and he, in turn, mentioned his accomplices and they were arrested at different locations in the state.
CP Oyebade said the suspects have confessed to the crime and would soon be charged to court at the end of investigations.
